Seauloud learned piano at age 6, took lessons encouraged by his mother until age 14. His musical interests at the time were classic rock and classical music.
In high school growing up in a suburb of Philadelphia, he regularly drove into Philly to see bands such as The Police, Peter Gabriel, Price, Heart, and others. After realizing he would be going off the college soon, and would be without daily access to a piano, Seauloud taught himself guitar senior year in high school. He and his friends would dress up as different bands (The Cure, The Smiths, REM, Depeche Mode etc.) and make home videos in his parents' living room.
Attending college in San Francisco, Seauloud befriended J. Severance, a music enthusiast and Anglophile, who introduced him to British alternative bands such as Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, and Durritti Column. He and Severance played guitar together and developed a soft sonic melodious sound using various pedals on acoustic guitar. He would later continue writing music with Severance when they both lived in Barcelona, Spain in 1993. There they continued to experiment with guitar and started recording drone music on keyboards.
Seauloud formed his first loosely defined band while attending Oxford University in 1991-2. The trio would write songs and perform them to friends and onlookers at Head of the River Pub on Thames. They drew inspiration from local bands such as Ride, Verve, Supergrass, Slowdive, and Spacemen 3. He followed Spiritualized and Slowdive throughout England attending concerts and meeting various musicians.
Later Seauloud, at the time going by the name Zoom, returned home to the US, and formed a band called Solarium in 1996. They made a 7" called All the time and Fly away, recorded in 1998. They recorded several songs in an abandoned Navy yard studio in Almeda. They performed at Bottom of the Hill and The Onion before disbanding.
He continued to explore music and write improvisational piano pieces for the next many years. In 2018, Seauloud took a music tour of spiritual music and rhythm throughout Morocco with his wife. It was after this trip that he decided to begin working a solo album.
In December 2021, he set out to do his first solo album, exploring the transforming human experience through sound. It was completed in 2023.
